Another reason is that glass bottles are Recyclable, have Zero Permeability, and most importantly preserves natural flavor.
Are there markings on glass bottles indicating that they are designed and/or permitted to be refilled?
There are not necessarily markings that will indicate this. You should never refill a plastic bottle with consumable items, but glass bottles are generally ok.
